LOW IMPACT WINEMAKING.
HIGH IMPACT CAUSES.

ABOUT OUR WINERY

Ricochet = Bouncing Back

Ricochet Wine Company started with the focus on community.  Wine IS community:  We open bottles of wine to share with others.  Wine is social.

So, there are two aspects to Ricochet--the winemaking, and the purpose.

Winemaking:

Ricochet practices low-impact winemaking.  This means that we strive to limit additives and interventions so long as the integrity of the grape, the varietal character, the terroir...so long as those are preserved.  We are low-sulfur.  We do not use enzymes to extract color.  We only filter wines if absolutely necessary.  Ricochet aims to make wines that are sophisticated.  Wine with tension and nuance and layers and fruit and...all the things.

The Purpose:

Ricochet aims to be part of the local and regional community.  Five percent of all profits are donated to social-justice, non-profit organizations.  Ricochet is happy to be linked with The Remnant Initiatives, based in Newberg, OR.  This organization helps newly released, formerly incarcerated citizens of Yamhill County to get adequate clothing, jobs, housing and a sense of stability.

RICOCHET WINES

Current Releases

2018 PINOT NOIR, KEELER ESTATE VINEYARD

$36

Sourced from a certified biodynamic vineyard in the Eola-Amity AVA, this wine exudes terroir.  Native-yeast fermented, and limited use of sulfur, along with neutral French oak barrels contribute to the low-interventionist result:  a solid wine with balance, grip, and long finish.  This wine is drinking well in its youth, but would also do well to be laid down for 5-8 years.

2018 GRUNER VELTLINER

$18

Foot stomped in the picking bins, and left to sit on skins for a day, this Gruner has some weight and character.  No sulfur at crush, and barrel fermented through MLF. Unfiltered as well.  All contributing to a full-bodied white wine that is totally crushable, yet finishes with an acidity and saltiness that compliments all sorts of cuisine.

MAGNUM, 2018 PINOT NOIR, KEELER ESTATE VINEYARD

$75

Sourced from a certified biodynamic vineyard in the Eola-Amity AVA, this wine exudes terroir.  Native-yeast fermented, and limited use of sulfur, along with neutral French oak barrels contribute to the low-interventionist result:  a solid wine with balance, grip, and long finish.  This wine is drinking well in its youth, but would also do well to be laid down for 5-8 years.
